There is no pleasure in February. It's cold, it's dark, it's weirdly short. They've shoe-horned a love holiday in the middle, but they're not fooling anyone. So we've decided to embrace this aesthetic, and invited one of the coldest, darkest fellows from Holland's icy shores to bring us his glacial live show.

Conforce (Delsin / Rush Hour)

Boris Bunnik is a young Dutchman who creates some of the world's most sublime techno. Fusing modern dubcentric sounds to the rolling kicks and hats energy of acts like Luke Slater, Conforce's innovative and individualistic take on modern techno has won him plaudits from the scene's biggest hitters, and a place in the bags of Marcel Dettmann, Luke Hess and Scuba.

His latest LP, Escapism, is a masterpiece. Showing what the techno long-player really should be it filters the dance-floor through arctic atmospheres, and combines functionality with an understanding of music beyond the club. As releases on Delsin, Rush and Hour and Clone attest, Conforce is one of the most exciting names in techno today.

A regular at Fabric, Trouw and Berghain, as well as touring around the world, this is a very rare chance to see one of techno's big boys in a very intimate space.


James Rand (Chibuku)

For my money, James Rand is one of the finest DJs in the UK. He's got a record bag deeper than the Mariana Trench and an uncanny understanding of what makes dance-floors shake. Whether warming up or closing down James is the kind of DJ who just knows what works, when; you don't know what he's playing, but it's what you want to hear. We're extremely pleased to be welcoming him back to our little shindig.
